Community Midwives

Culm Valley Midwives

We are a team of four midwives covering six GP practices and looking after 350-400 expectant mums in the area each year.

When your pregnancy is confirmed we ask that you make an appointment to see us when you are about eight to ten weeks pregnant. This appointment lasts for about forty-five minutes. Following this appointment your scans are arranged and further ante-natal appointments discussed. You may also see your GP and a consultant at the hospital.

We provide parent-craft and aqua-natal classes.

Following delivery of your baby we visit you at home for about ten days then hand your care over to the health visitor.

At Hemyock we have a clinic on Tuesdays.

We can be contacted through the maternity department at Tiverton District Hospital on 01884 235415 or 235416, and there is always one of us on duty.
Messages can also be left with reception staff.
