How do I obtain travel advice?
If you are planning to go abroad and need travel advice and
vaccinations, please give sufficient notice as most vaccinations need to
be given at least one month before departure. If you are visiting
several countries or exotic locations, you should commence vaccinations
at least three months before departure. An initial assessment can be
done over the telephone – the receptionist will ask the triage nurse to
contact you.
A separate information leaflet describing our policy for providing
travel health advice and vaccination, with details of the costs
involved, is available from reception.
TRAVEL VACCINES
Some vaccinations, especially for travel purposes, incur a charge. The
cost of the charge will depend on whether the vaccination is available
on the NHS, incurring a normal prescription charge, or whether it is
only available privately. Other vaccinations may be free of charge.
