Community Nurses

The aim of the District Nursing Team is to provide nursing care to patients outside a hospital setting but who are unable to attend the surgery. The team will advise patients and their families in matters of health and will teach relatives and carers to care for patients between visits. Nursing care assessments are carried out and a care plan is designed to meet individual needs. Areas of care include:

    • Wound care
    • Bowel and bladder care
    • Palliative care
    • Nursing procedures following an operation

The community nurses can be contacted directly Monday to Friday 9am - 10am on 01823 682514.  Messages can also be left with reception staff - 01823 680206.

At all other times, including week-ends and Bank Holidays please contact 111.

Social Services need to be contacted for any enquiries about social care needs for older people such as bathing and dressing. Please phone Care Direct on 0800 444000 or the appropriate social services department listed in the telephone directory.
